Vue.js
A cost-effective JavaScript framework for building dynamic features
We love to build applications that work how users instinctively expect them to, with options to filter and search quickly and easily. Vue.js lets us do just that, enriching your applications without having to rebuild from the ground up.
Many user-facing sites offer so much more than flat content. Instead, you want to display arrays of products and/or services to choose from.
For time-poor or impatient users – which, let’s face it, is most of them – it’s vital to enable them to find what they want as quickly and painlessly as possible. This is where Vue.js is your friend.
We use Vue.js to enrich existing web and mobile applications by adding or improving interactive components. Vue.js a cost-effective, quick way to enhance your offerings because only the portions of the page that require a dynamic element need to be built (or rebuilt) using it.
Vue.js framework
Vue.js emerged as part of the second wave of modern JavaScript frameworks. Its positioning is simple: where an application needs some dynamic features, Vue.js can be used to build just those parts of the page. Users can then immediately start filtering and searching, without even having to wait for the rest of the page to load.
Various terms are used to describe Vue.js. It’s ‘progressive’ because it adapts to the needs of developers. It’s a ‘non-greedy’ front-end framework because it doesn’t need to take over your entire page – we don’t need to build (or re-build) everything in it, only those portions that need dynamic functionality.
It’s lightweight and fast to download, but also versatile and ‘performant’. And it’s ‘reactive’ – when your data changes, Vue.js takes care of updating it in every single place it’s being used.
Bespoke Vue.js development
Because it doesn’t require us to rebuild everything, Vue.js offers a great opportunity to provide a richer, more interactive experience through your existing applications without huge penalties in time and cost.
At Full Fat Things, we’ve used it many times to turn a good application into a great one. For Wolters Kluwer, for example, we used Vue.js to build functionality that lets users search a library of millions of documents.
