Full Fat Things recognised as top British Drupal contributor

We make no secret of the fact we're big fans of Drupal's open source platform. And we're over the moon to be recognised for our contributions – we're the only British owned business in the top 10.

Open source is a brilliant concept – there are few barriers to using it but your own time and skill. Skilled technical people coming together with the common goal of creating and improving software that solves real world problems is a beautiful thing. As a business, it means we can build software more quickly and focus our time and your budget on tailoring applications and websites to suit you.

Here's a critical and important point, though, and this is where the Drupal community comes into its own. An open source platform can only survive – and thrive – with an active community.

At Full Fat Things, it's important for us to give back too. It means we can share our skills with others through patches, code reviews, and mentoring. We can also help influence the direction of Drupal so its roadmap is aligned with business user needs. And of course, it means we're learning from others and strengthening our knowledge of the Drupal ecosystem too.

When Dries Buytaert, founder of Drupal, published his 2020 sponsor report, we were ridiculously proud that Full Fat Things Senior Developer Dave Long (aka longwave) came in at no. 8 in the weighted contributions by user. His work on Drupal Core has been critical this year in the successful launch of Drupal 9. Well done Dave!

We were also mad happy that Full Full Things were ranked at no. 9. worldwide by weighted contributions. We're in great company, obviously. But we're the only wholly UK based Drupal Services company in the top 10.

And we're very proud.
